Holy Trinity Sunday at Our Cathedral
On the Feast of Holy Trinity (Pentecost), our cathedral was beautifully adorned with green branches and flowers, symbolizing the life-giving grace of the Holy Spirit. The faithful gathered for the Divine Liturgy with joy and prayer, glorifying the Holy Trinity and invoking the blessings of the Holy Spirit upon themselves and the whole Church.
A particularly moving part of the celebration was the reading of the Kneeling Prayers following the Divine Liturgy. Through these ancient prayers, we ask God to renew us with His grace, strengthen us in the faith, and grant peace to the world.

Ascension of Our Lord
This week, the faithful of Saint Vladimir’s Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral gathered in prayerful celebration of the great Feast of the Ascension of Our Lord. The Divine Services reminded the faithful that Christ ascended into heaven not to leave the world, but to open the path to eternal life and the Kingdom of God for all humanity.
In his sermon, Father Ivan reflected on the spiritual meaning of the feast, encouraging everyone to seek heavenly things and to remain faithful to Christ through prayer, repentance, and Christian living.

Sunday of the Blind Man
This Sunday, the faithful gathered at Saint Vladimir’s Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral for the Divine Liturgy on the Sunday of the Blind Man. The Gospel reminded us that Christ is the true Light of the world, Who opens not only physical eyes, but also the spiritual eyes of the human soul.
In his sermon, Father Ivan reflected on how humanity has gradually lost the ability to spiritually see and feel the presence of God because of sin and distance from the spiritual life. Just as Christ healed the man born blind, the Lord also desires to heal our spiritual blindness and lead us into the light of faith, truth, and eternal life.

Sunday of the Samaritan Woman
On the Sunday of the Samaritan Woman, our parish gathered for the Divine Liturgy, reflecting on the Gospel account of Christ’s encounter with the Samaritan woman at the well — a meeting that transformed her life and led her to faith in Him.
That same day, we also celebrated Mother’s Day. Following the service, the rector of the cathedral, Father Ivan, warmly congratulated all mothers and expressed heartfelt gratitude for their love, sacrifice, prayers, and devotion to their families. Special prayers and best wishes were offered for God’s blessing, good health, and spiritual joy upon all mothers.

Sunday of the Paralytic: Faith That Seeks Healing
On the fourth Sunday after Pascha, our parish celebrated the Divine Liturgy with a good number of faithful in prayerful unity. Following the service, we congratulated our young altar server Vitaliy on his birthday, singing “Many Years” and wishing him health and blessings. Parishioners then gathered with the rector for warm fellowship and spiritual conversation over coffee.

Sunday of the Myrrh-Bearing Women
On the third Sunday after Pascha, our parish honored the Holy Myrrh-Bearing Women and expressed special gratitude to our sisterhood for their devoted service. Father Ivan congratulated them and presented each sister with a white carnation as a symbol of blessing and appreciation.

Thomas Sunday (Antipascha)
On Thomas Sunday (Antipascha), our parish prayerfully celebrated the Divine Liturgy, continuing the joy of Pascha. A special moment was the cutting of the Artos, which was distributed to all faithful as a blessing to take home and share with their families.

Pascha (Easter of Christ)
Pascha — the Feast of feasts and the Triumph of triumphs — is the greatest event in the history of our salvation. On this day, the Holy Church proclaims to the whole world the joyful message:
Christ is risen from the dead, trampling down death by death, and upon those in the tombs bestowing life! The Resurrection of Christ is not only a remembrance of an event that happened over two thousand years ago. It is a living reality that touches each of us today. Christ has conquered death, destroyed the power of sin, and opened the way to eternal life.

Holy Week

Holy Week is the most profound and sacred period of the Church year, during which we remember the final days of the earthly life of our Lord Jesus Christ — His suffering, crucifixion, death, and burial.

Palm Sunday
In our cathedral, the festive Divine Liturgy for Palm Sunday — the Entry of the Lord into Jerusalem — was celebrated. The faithful, holding willow branches, joyfully welcomed the Savior, recalling how the people once cried out: “Hosanna in the highest!”
This feast reminds us of the importance of sincere and steadfast faith, one that does not change with circumstances. Along with the joy of this day, the Church calls us to remain faithful to Christ as we prepare spiritually for Holy Week and the bright feast of the Resurrection.

The Great Canon of Saint Andrew of Crete
In our cathedral, the Great Canon of Saint Andrew of Crete was prayerfully read — a special penitential service of Great Lent. The faithful gathered together in prayer, reflecting on the words of repentance and spiritual renewal.
This service helps each person to look into their own heart, offer sincere repentance, and grow stronger in faith on the path toward the Bright Resurrection of Christ.

Sunday of the Veneration of the Cross
On the Sunday of the Veneration of the Cross, during Great Lent, the Divine Liturgy was celebrated in our cathedral, followed by a common prayer before the Precious and Life-Giving Cross of our Lord.
