Sunday of the Holy Myrrh-Bearing Women
On the third Sunday after Pascha, the Orthodox Church honors the Holy Myrrh-Bearing Women — those faithful women who followed Christ with love and devotion, who remained with Him faithfully to the end, even through His suffering and death, and who were the first to receive the joyful news of His Resurrection.
Their example teaches us a profound lesson: true faith is not only words, but living love, sacrifice, and unwavering dedication. While others fled in fear, these women remained faithful, bringing myrrh to the tomb out of love for their Lord.
On this blessed day, the Divine Liturgy was prayerfully celebrated in our parish. The faithful gathered to glorify the Risen Christ and to reflect on the strength and faithfulness of the holy Myrrh-Bearing Women.
Following the service, a special moment took place in our parish life. We offered heartfelt congratulations to all the women of our parish — especially our devoted sisterhood — for their tireless labor and loving service to the Church.

Week after week, they faithfully come together — often twice a week, on Tuesdays and Wednesdays — dedicating their precious time and energy to prepare pierogies and other traditional foods. Through their work, not only do they preserve our beautiful traditions, but they also provide essential financial support for the life of our parish.
In recognition of their sacrifice and love, Father Ivan solemnly congratulated each of them and expressed deep gratitude on behalf of the entire parish. As a sign of blessing and appreciation, every sister was presented with a white carnation, symbolizing purity, resurrection, and God’s blessing.
May the Lord strengthen and bless all our sisters, and may the example of the Myrrh-Bearing Women inspire all of us to serve Christ with the same faithfulness, love, and courage.
